Pre-School Sample Day

 

8:00-8:15 Arrival, Greetings, Informal conversation.
8:15-8:30  Prayer Circle – The children give a penny for charity along with introducing basic morning prayers and songs of thanks for all we have
8:40-9:40    

Discovery time:  self directed activities in the learning centers: literacy, reading, writing/listening, manipulatives, dramatic play, cooking, science, sand/water, music, etc.

Project time: opportunities for children to choose a project in which they will further explore a particular theme and sharpen their skills.    

9:45-10:00 Circle time with music, stories and games to introducing or reinforcing the theme and its concepts.
10:00-10:15 Snack and conversation
10:20-11:00 Active outdoor play
11:00- 11:15 Drinks and line up
11:15-12:00 Washing hands, Lunch and Conversation.
12:00-1:30 Quiet time and Rest;  lying down and stretching out. Listening to soft music, looking through books.
1:30-1:45

Judaic circle time with Hebrew songs, stories and activities

1:45-2:45

Discovery time:  self directed activities in the Judaic learning centers: i.e. Hebrew letter games, puzzles with Judaic themes, holiday role-playing

Project time: opportunities for children to choose a Hebrew or holiday project.    

2:45-3:00 Judaic/Hebrew/holiday story time
3:00-3:15 Snack and conversation
3:15-3:45 Active outdoor play
3:45-4:00 Dismissal and greeting parents
On Fridays the children enjoy a special Shabbat experience and challah baking, as well as, music class with movement activities, dance, rhythm band, and parachute activities.
